Make it at Market
This page would have been an article on Wikipedia, but apparently the subject isn’t “notable” enough (according to their rejection notes), so I’ve put it here instead for you all to enjoy! I haven’t appeared on Make it at Market (nor indeed applied!), but I often found myself wanting to visit the websites of those inspiring crafters, so this is essentially a handy table of links for each episode. Let me know if you spot any inaccuracies, and I’ll try and keep it up to date with future series too :-)
Make it at Market is a British television series that has broadcast on BBC One since January 2023, presented by Dominic Chinea. It follows fledgling craft businesses, and teams them with experts in the field to help them on their way.
Format of the Show
Each show follows the stories of two crafters, who are either looking to transform their hobby into a business, or have recently started a business and are looking to expand.
Each crafter is paired with a suitable expert mentor who has experience and knowledge in their field, and offers practical tips and advice to help them grow their business.
During the show, each crafter is invited to showcase one low-price “volume piece” (made on the show), one “high-end piece” (made beforehand) and one “favourite piece” (made on the show), to give the experts and viewers an idea of the breadth of their skills and their unique selling points. They then go away for 8 weeks to follow through the action plan set out by their expert mentor, and report back again with their progress.

Series 1 first broadcast on BBC One between 2nd and 20th January 2023. It was filmed at Stoneywell cottage, near Ulverscroft in Leicestershire.
